Monks Uncle Tripel ale. Pours clear golden color with no head and some hints of lacing. Nose of pine with some straw-hay earthy notes in there. First taste is of a good smooth American ale, with some kind of earthy notes coming from the mouth to the nose! Some caramel sweetness in there! The hops come in on the after taste, and linger for a while with a big mouth after bite and only at 34 IBU’s! My thinking on Ales is changing with this one, because it’s not an average one! This lingers for a long time in the after taste, which I think I really like a lot? If I had to give it a number it would be in the top ten! 9.0 % ALC. 7-9-2010
