Meeting 7

The minutes of the beer club tasting. 1-23-09

This is the 7th session.

Sampled was;

High & Mighty Beer Home for the Holidays,7.0 ABV.smooth, malty, warming brown ale, brewed with loads of roasted malts to give hints of chocolate and raisin, liberally dosed with noble Halletauer and Saaz hops, and fermented with a Belgian yeast strain.

Dennis; good, taste dark malty a little like porter.

Magic hat odd notion winter 08. 6.0 ABV. Braggot is an ancient drink from the depths of tradition and is the perfect holiday treat. A mix of mead and ale, Braggot is filled with the calming flavors of chamomile and honey and soars like a reindeer in flight between clouds of sweet malt and bitter hops.

Dennis; banana & citrus taste very light also bread quality.

River Horse Brewing ESB, 4.5% A.B.V Ample quantities of caramel malt give this English ale a soft copper hue and the colorful addition of carapils malt adds a slight sweetness you might mistake for honey. Caramel Malt gives this Brew a Soft Caramel Color. Low Bitterness Combined with a Slight Sweet Finish.

Dennis; good, bitter beer I liked it.

Harpoon Glacier Harvest Wet Hop beer24th, 6.7 ABV IBU 38.a heroic dose of fresh hops the day of the harvest. The result is a copper-colored ale with a pleasing blend of fresh hop flavor and sweet malt.

Dennis; I’m skeptical it may be a floral taste instead of plastic from other tasting I had.
