Beer club tasting. 7-17-08
This is the 1st session.
Sampled was;
Ommegang Abbey Ale 8.5 ABV. This burgundian brew gives off a variety of aromas, including plum and cinnamon, and packs in flavors such as caramel, toffee, and licorice. At 8.5% abv. Meditate on this dark ruby elixir. Breathe in its deep emanations of fruit and spice. Is that clove you smell? Licorice? Fig? Sip serenely as revelations of honey, toffee, chocolate and dark dried fruit delight your senses.
Dennis; a Euro- Belgian tasting beer made in the USA.I liked it.
Avery Maharaja Beer Style: Imperial India Pale Ale flaunts his authority over a deranged amount of hops: tangy, vibrant and pungent along with an insane amount of malted barley – fashioning a dark amber hue and exquisite malt essence.
Hop Variety: Columbus, Crystal, Centennial & Simcoe Malt Variety: Two-row barley, caramel 120L, victory OG: 1.090 Alcohol by Volume: 10.54% (2008) IBU’s: 102 Color: Dark Amber
Dennis; this is another one of the good IPA’s. I liked very much.
