St. Patrick’s Day Events, 3rd Annual Maple
Madness, The Learned Pint Speaker Series, & More!

March brings lots of exciting events to the brewery –
some annual traditions and some new! We’ll be kicking off a speaker
series titled The Learned Pint, where we’ll be bringing in three
experts on three different dates to share their expertise on nurturing our
environment and our spirits this spring. The end of the month brings maple
sugaring and all its sweet goodness, including our third annual Maple
event with local sugar house Syrup by the Sea on the
Sunday of NH Maple Weekend. And, next week, we’re sure to all be just a little
Irish as we welcome St. Patrick’s Day with a pre-party featuring an authentic
Irish music session on Thursday and a culinary celebration on the 17th with a
special beer flight, Irish menu specials, and more.

Thursday, March 15th, 11am-9pm: Pre-St
Patrick’s Party

Get a jump (or a jig, or a reel) on your St Patrick’s
Day plans at our Pre-St Patrick’s Day Party,
when we’ll be unveiling our very first Irish
Red Ale
– a mild classic Irish Red crafted with balance in
mind – a touch of roasted malts to give it a gorgeous reddish rust color and a
light caramel sweetness. Just enough Mt. Hood and Willamette hops to add some
light citrus and tea notes. And a balanced body to make it appropriate to
pair with meaty Irish stews and pies, yet still remain highly drinkable and

From 6:30-8:30pm, we’ll host an authentic Irish
session with Penhallow.
A traditional celtic band centered in Portsmouth,  Penhallow consists
of veteran session players who frequent the many Irish sessions around the
seacoast and beyond.

And it wouldn’t be a celebration of all things Irish
without the food! Look for traditional Irish menu specials, such as a reuben,
lamb stew made with our delicious Stout Stout, and of course our Shepherd’s Pie!
This event is free and for all ages.

Saturday, March
St. Patrick’s Day!

We’ll have Irish Menu specials all day including
a traditional
boiled dinner
with house-made corned beef made from
Northeast Family Farms brisket, plus a Luck
o’ the Irish Sampler Tray!
This limited edition beer
flight includes 4-ounce pours of our new Irish Red Ale, Irish Red
with Wine Blossom Cask, Stout Stout, and 5-Minute Fugitive Russian
Imperial Stout. Come on out and toast to old Eire. Slainte!

Wednesday, March 21st, 6pm: The Learned Pint
Speaker Series

March kicks off a new educational speaker series here
at Throwback Brewery that we’ve titled The
This series will feature a trio of topics we wanted to learn more about, so we
thought you might be interested, too!

Sessions will kick off at 6:30pm on three Wednesdays
this spring. All are welcome and there is no cost, we just ask that you RSVP through our Eventbrite page so we know how many of you

March 21st – Let’s Talk Fish
with Gabriella Bradt, PhD, UNH.
This session will take a look at what’s happening in today’s New Hampshire
fisheries and the future of this historic industry. As a farm to table
restaurant with a passion for supporting local industries, we feel that
sustainable practices and support of our native fishermen and women is vital to
their survival. Gabby is passionate about speaking about local seafood and
the state of our local fisheries and what we – as NH residents – can/should
do to keep our fishing heritage alive and our fish in our local seafood

Sunday, March 25th, 12-4pm: 3rd Annual Maple

Join us for a
fun-for-the-entire-family celebration of all things maple, right here on the
Seacoast! We’ll have tasty maple beers and from-scratch food made with real NH
maple syrup, live music, a magician for the kids, sap-to-syrup demos
from Syrup
by the Sea
, a farm tour, and more! This event is free, and takes place both
indoors and out, so please dress warmly.

We’ll have beer on tap both inside and out in our beer garden.

CSA at Throwback Brewery

For the third year in a row, we are going to be a
pickup location for a multi-farm CSA (a.k.a Community Supported Agriculture) run
by the Three River Farmers
. The CSA will run from July 11th
through October 10th. On the Wednesday of each week, swing on by Throwback
Brewery to pick up your share of freshly picked, locally-raised fruits and
vegetables. While you are here, grab a pint, or take some beer to go, and we
will give you 10% off your beer purchases during pickup time!

Many new offerings are available this year, including an option to add our
