Our 9th Annual One Pot Showdown™
Sunday, January 311:00 – 4:00 PM
Over the past eight years, the Saint Arnold One Pot Showdown has become our largest and most popular annual event. On Sunday, January 31, we’ll have 80 cooking teams ready to serve you their tastiest dish made with Saint Arnold beer. It’s one part chili cookoff, one part stew stampede, one part gumbo gauntlet and ten parts Saint Arnold goodness.

A group of judges will sample all the dishes and award one team the coveted One Pot Trophy. You get to taste all of the dishes (or as many as you can!) and see if you agree with the judges. Check out

Proceeds from this event go to Kid’s Meals, an organization that provides healthy lunches to pre-school aged kids living in poverty. It’s like Meals on Wheels, but for kids.

Tickets are $40 per person, and you may purchase up to four tickets per email address. One Pot Showdown always sells out very quickly.

New Years Day at Saint Arnold

This Friday, we’ll be open for the first day of 2016 and kicking the new year off with a few special beers. We feel like that’s the best way.

In addition to our everyday lineup, we’ll be tapping a keg of Bière De Saison with Brettanomyces and a special version of our 20th Anniversary Ale aged in Cognac Barrels. We’ll also have Bishop’s Barrel No. 9 – Pumpkinator aged in Woodford Reserve and Willett Bourbon Barrels.

Our Beer Hall will be open normal weekday hours – 11:00 AM – 4:30 PM – and we’ll be serving a limited food menu (see it here) along with our Daily Special (available until 2:00 PM):

Grow a Beard, Win an iPad!
Enter Our Annual Donegal Beard Growing Competition
Does your beard define you? Are you often mistaken for Saint Arnold himself? Do birds attempt to nest in your facial hair? If you’ve answered yes to any or all of these questions, you sound like a prime candidate to compete in our Donegal Beard Growing Competition. Your wildest beard dreams may just come true.

A donegal beard aka chin curtain grows along the jaw line and covers the chin completely. Think Irish-style or Abe Lincoln. That’s what you’ll be sporting during the competition on St. Patrick’s Day.

Here’s how to enter: Step one: Between January 1 and January 6, shave any current facial hair you may have. Everyone must start clean-shaven. Step two: Email us an official “before” photo of your clean-shaven self holding up the day’s newspaper. If you aren’t sure what a newspaper is, pull up the Houston Chronicle’s website on your laptop or tablet and take a photo with that.

Email your photos no sooner than Friday, January 1 and no later than Wednesday, January 6 to You can also stop by the brewery during public hours, and we’ll take your photo for you.

Step three: grow a beard. Step four: keep growing a beard.

We will crown the winner at our annual St. Patrick’s Day Party at the brewery on Thursday, March 17. The Donegal Beard Growing Champion will be awarded an iPad Air 2. This iPad can be used for beard research, styling tips and trading beard stories with other beard enthusiasts. Or anything else an iPad can do, we suppose.

Fine print: Clean-shaven means no facial hair. Sideburns must be cut at least halfway up the ear. Previous winners are ineligible for two years. We will be seeking qualified, independent judges for the competition.

Texas Bowl Tailgate at NRG Stadium

Heading out to the bowl game today? Check. Got your face paint on? Check. Need a spot to tailgate? That’s where we come in!

We’ll be set up in the Platinum Lot at NRG Stadium by 4:30 PM. If you know where our normal spot for Texans games is, look for us around there. We’re going to be as close to there as we can get.

You’ll see our red van and Saint Arnold flag flying overhead. You’ll see beer too. That’s kind of our thing.

Our tailgate will be open to fans of both teams, and really anyone to who wants to stop by. Join us!

Santo De Mayo Social Run at Flying Saucer, Downtown
Sunday, January 31 at 9:00 AM

Our Santo De Mayo 5K will be returning in May, so now’s the time to start preparing. Of course, the way to prepare for our 5K is by running through Downtown and enjoying beers and breakfast tacos.

We’ll start at the Saucer, run to the brewery and finish back at the Saucer. Pre registration is not required. You can come out and run for free, or you can pay $15 and get three Saint Arnold beers, a pint glass and two breakfast tacos. That’s a heck of a deal.

You can also register for the Santo De Mayo 5K on site. $40 will get you the above, plus registration for the run on Sunday, May 1.
