Throwback News Letter

Throwback Brewery – Fat Alberta & Figgin’ Forty release, Pats Games in the Brew House, and more!

Our Brew House Theatre – Pats Game Tomorrow!

As we mentioned in our October email, we recently purchased a nice wide screen and a projector to show movies, events, and games in our Brew House. Given how many of our customers are Patriots fans, we decided to show all Patriots games when we are open – including tomorrow’s 4:25pm game versus the Giants! (note- even though we typically close at 7 on Sundays, we will stay open as long as the game is on!)

Here are the other games we plan to show (which are also listed in our event calendar, too!):
– Dec 6 – Versus the Eagles – 4:25pm
– Dec 13- Versus the Texans – 1:00pm
– Dec 20 – Versus the Titans – 1:00pm
– Dec 27 – Versus the Jets – 1:00pm
– Jan 3 – Versus the Dolphins- 1:00pm
– Plus playoff games!

So come on by, grab some food & beer in the pub, and bring it into the Brew House to enjoy while watching the game. We will also have our servers frequently swing through the Brew House to grab you more food & drink as you need.

Speaking of food, tomorrow’s Chef’s Whim is all about our fresh, house-made sausage. We will be offering a breakfast sausage gravy with biscuits and fried eggs, a hot italian sausage & pepper sandwich, and a turkey / apple / campari sausage with roasted long pie pumpkin and cornbread stuffing.

Hope to see you tomorrow! Go Pats!

Fat Alberta is Coming!

As soon as the leaves begin to turn and the temperatures drop, the most common question we get from folks is ‘when is Fat Alberta coming?’. For those of you not familiar with Fat Alberta, she is our Chocolate Peanut Butter Imperial Stout, and we brew her about once a year. Fat Alberta clocks in at 10%, but you wouldn’t know it! This decadent beer tastes like a chocolate peanut butter brownie. It’s great as a dessert in and of itself, or, we think even better when paired with chocolate.

So, to answer the original question, we are going to be releasing Fat Alberta on Sunday, December 13th, starting at noon. But that’s not all, on this day we will also:
– Be selling 16.9 oz bottles of Fat Alberta as well as 4 oz and 12 oz pours.
– Release bottles of our Figgin’ Forty for the first time ever! Figgin’ Forty is our chocolate fig Baltic porter. We’ve been aging this for many months now, and it’s at its prime!
– Tap a special pin (cask) of Campfire – S’mores style. Yep, we are aiming to re-create that perfect Campfire scene.
– Finally, we will have several Fat Alberta food specials designed by our talented Chef Carrie. Some of these specials will use Fat Alberta in the dishes. All food options will, of course, be delicious and pair well with our beers!

On the 13th of December, like all Sundays, we will be open 12pm to 7pm. Hope to see you at the farm!

Getting Ready for the Holidays!

In case you want to give a little bit of Throwback love to your friends and family this holiday season, we thought we would share with you some potential gift ideas that we are working on that should be ready by early December.

First, we’ve been getting lots of comments from folks about how much they love Chef Carrie’s beer mustards and also lots of questions about if they can bring the mustard home. As are result, we are going to start packaging some of the goodies coming out of Hobbs Farm Kitchen, including the Maple-Kissed Porter Mustard and Chef Carrie’s ultra craveable hot fudge sauce. We are working on the labels now, and hopefully can get this ready to go for the Holidays!

Second, we are going to be selling our Unafraid of the Dark cards starting on Saturday, November 28th – which is also Small Business Saturday! For those of you not familiar with this program – we sell ‘punch’ cards good for growler fills of six unique, limited edition dark beers. The beers are released every two weeks, starting the first week of January and running through the end of March. This year’s lineup includes a Black Forrest cake, which is a lagered stout with cherries, chocolate and oaky rum notes. Other beers include an Imperial Porter with fruity notes coming from local plums, a smoked apple robust porter, and a carrot cake milk stout.

Finally, look for us to package last year’s one-off Unafraid of the Dark beer El Chupbrewcabra- Mexican Chocolate Porter into bottles that as our Winter seasonal! We can’t wait for this!
