Small batch, wood-aged funk releases this Saturday at the new brewery. See you there?

Heads Up, Funky Beer Junkies!

Brett & I, the newest Smuttlabs beer, is ready for release!

This 6%, barrel-aged, golden beer takes 13 months to make. Why? After an initial fermentation with out house Trappist ale yeast, this entire batch was transferred to red wine barrels where it was inoculated with Brettanomyces Bruxellensis, a yeast first discovered in barrel-aged British beers. During the slow, long secondary fermentation, “Brett Brux” produces a slightly sour, earthy flavor profile which makes Brett & I such a rare treat.

We will be selling all 24 cases from our Towle Farm brewery beginning Saturday, August 2 at 11am. The crown-finished, 375ml bottles are $12 each and there is no bottle limit. We won’t be filling growlers due to the small amount of beer we have.

Don’t worry about not living near the brewery. A small amount of kegs will be shipping to our wholesalers in CT, DC, IL, MA MD, ME, NC, NH, NY, PA, VA and VT beginning Monday, August 4.

This is our third release of Brett & I, which means some of your are looking forward to its return and some of you may just be hearing about this delicious beer. We hope all of you enjoy!
