Saint Arnold Army Newsletter

Dear Saint Arnold’s Army:

Bishop’s Barrel No. 6 to be Released Monday, February 17

Bishop’s Barrel No. 6 is Pumpkinator aged in Appleton Estate 21-30 Year Rum Barrels. It smells like a pumpkin pie that somebody snuck some rum into. The taste begins with sweet malt, chocolate and spices followed by a warming rum finish. The pumpkin creates a pleasant body which holds up to the onslaught of flavors. It is oddly balanced with the hops creating a crisp finish – leaving the mouth wanting more. As it warms, all of the wonderful flavors become rounder and fuller.

See all the specs and information on our Bishop’s Barrel page.

Remember, because of the small amount of beer produced from the barrels, Bishop’s Barrel releases are only available at your favorite bars and restaurants. Here are a few of the places you’ll be able to find it:

  • Flying Saucer, Sugar Land at 5:00 PM
    • (Plus Pumpkinator Cask and limited BB1-5!)

Spring Bock Pub Crawl in The Heights on Saturday, February 22
We’re taking over White Oak on Saturday, February 22 for our annual Spring Bock Pub Crawl in The Heights. This is always one of our biggest Pub Crawls, and this year we’re even adding a stop.
We’ll utilize our usual open house schedule for the first seven stops – this means you can visit them in any order. You’ll get your ticket at whichever stop you decide to visit first, and from there you’ll visit six of the first seven stops. We will be handing the tickets out between 2:00 and 3:00 PM only, so make sure you get out there by 3:00.

At 6:00, everybody will gather at the final stop, and that’s where we will award the prizes. As always, the prize for completing the crawl is a handsome Saint Arnold pint glass. We will have a large but limited supply. Designated drivers are always eligible for the award and encouraged to attend! Here’s the layout:
Hit six of these between 2:00 and 6:00:

  • BB’s Cafe
  • Christian’s Tailgate
  • Fitzgerald’s
  • Public House Heights
  • Jimmy’s Ice House
  • Little Woodrow’s
  • City Oven

At 6:00, head to the final stop:

  • Onion Creek

As a way to make transportation safer and easier, our friends at The Wave have offered to run three shuttles during the hours of the event. You can park at the lot located at 1525 Silver St. and they will have shuttles running to the crawl area and back to the lot between 1:00 and 7:00 PM. The park and ride is just $5 per person during those hours. Any transportation after that would be an additional charge. They’ll let you leave your car in their lot overnight if needed – just give them a call Sunday and they’ll let you in.

Pub Nights at Saint Arnold Every Month

You’ve given us great feedback on our first several Pub Nights, so we’ll be keeping them up on a monthly basis. On Pub Nights, we open our tour hall from 5:00 – 10:00 PM strictly as a bar and let you choose what you want to purchase. There’s no entry fee for the evening, so you can just choose beers by the individual glass or bottle. Pub Nights are strictly 21 and up.

Each Pub Night, we’ll have select Divine Reserves and Bishop’s Barrels available (and maybe some other special beers!), as well as the always awesome food from our kitchen. We’ll update you with more specifics on the menu as each night approaches.
