Brace yourselves … AHopEclipseNow! is coming
For the second year in a row, we’re dedicating the months of February and March to an explosive celebration of our hop-centric libations.
You know Dogfish Head as the chronic breaker of beer rules, but there is one old-world style that will forever hold a special place in our pint glasses: the IPA. Of course, with wood-aging, fruit infusions, dark malts, wine must and maple syrup, we’ve put our own thumbprint on the style.
Like what you hear? Wait until you get a chance to try them. This IPA show is hitting the road with a nationwide series of celebrations.

these 3 things
It’s hop-buying season here at Dogfish Head. As most of us are just settling in to 2014, brewmaster Tim Hawn already has his mind on the 2015 brew schedule and the ingredients he’ll need to make it happen.

Come harvest time in fall, Tim heads west to Washington’s Yakima Valley to have a look at – and a whiff of – the hops he’s ordered. Yakima is the hop-growing center of the universe, and although it sounds like a dream vacation for a hophead, it comes with big responsibility.

What do you do at Dogfish?
I’m the off-centered General Manager of Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats in Rehoboth Beach. I’ve been in the gig for 3+ months.
Best thing about Dogfish?
The co-workers! Seriously, without a great group of people, we couldn’t do what we do.
What makes you off-centered?
I enjoy breaking down barriers and going down paths unknown. The excitement of “what’s next” is something I am thriving on in this role.
If you could share a craft beer with anyone – past, present or future – who would it be?
Herb Brooks … but Kurt Russell would do

Local events
We recently awarded $3,000 each to a few of our favorite Delaware nonprofits for their good work in the arts, community and the environment. Now, our three winners have a chance for a little icing on top: another $1,000 to put to good use.

Each organization is getting a party at our Rehoboth Beach brewpub, and whichever group attracts the most people wins the bonus. So, come on out and give ’em a boost.

* Milton Historical Society on Wednesday, Feb. 19.
