Gift the Gift of Tröegs!
It’s not too late to pick up some great essential Tröegs gifts or stocking stuffers for the craft beer lover in your family! Stop by our General Store at the brewery or shop our on-line Gift Shop and check out some festive winter and holiday-themed merchandise, such as a variety of Mad Elf items including T-shirts, hoodies, tree ornaments, winter knit hats, and soap. You can also sip hot cocoa (though we’d prefer JavaHead Stout) by the fireside with one of our hand-thrown stoneware mugs depicting a detailed filigree of our JavaHead logo. Or enjoy your favorite Tröegs beer over the holidays with a newly designed handcrafted ceramic Tröegs stein. We also have new can koozies to coincide with the release of Perpetual IPA in cans. Finally, you can also pick up a custom-made wooden six-pack carrier as a unique holiday gift for the beer geek in your life. You can even purchase the carrier with a six-pack of fresh beer at a discounted rate! Don’t forget to place your on-line order by 5:00 p.m. EST on Friday, December 20 to guarantee delivery for Christmas. All of these items are also available right in our General Store at the brewery, so be sure to stop in and one of our friendly clerks will be happy to assist you!
“Cans are for soup, not beer.”
The above comes from John Trogner, circa 1997. So with the first run of Perpetual IPA rolling off our canning line last week, it’s hard to think of a time when Tröegs Brewery would consider canning its handcrafted beers. Why the change of heart? “We’d been thinking about canning for a few years, but were on the fence,” said John. “We were already in the process of ordering two new bottling lines, so it made sense from a cost and timing perspective to move forward and get the canning line.” Designed and manufactured by the Italian-based CFT Packaging, the canning line has the capacity to fill approximately 180 cans per minute, offering flexibility in the way we present Tröegs beer to the consumer. While we still feel the brown glass bottle is the quintessential vessel for craft beer, we recognize that cans are an excellent packaging alternative, especially given the active lifestyles of many craft beer drinkers. At present time, we are easing into production of cans. Over the next few weeks, we will roll out Perpetual IPA in twelve-packs of 12oz. cans throughout our entire distribution footprint and Troegenator Double Bock in four-packs of 16oz. cans in the PA market only. For more information on the availability of Tröegs cans, please contact your local retailer or beer distributor.
It’s the time of year when everyone at Tröegs has been whipped into an Elf frenzy. Well, we’re pleased to announce the draft release of our festive holiday seasonal, Mad Elf Ale, as of Tuesday, November 19. Expect plenty of Elf sightings all throughout our distribution footprint during the month of December. So kick back, relax, and enjoy some liquid Christmas next time you’re out and about. You can also pick up six-packs, cases, 22oz. bombers, gift packs, and mammoth 101oz. gift bottles at your nearest beer retailer. But you’d better hurry, because The Elf is rumored to go into hiding soon!
Sunday Brunch Special
At our Snack Bar, we’re bringing on the brunch! Each Sunday through winter and early spring, our Snack Bar staff will prepare a special brunch-themed menu item for your pleasure. The brunch specials will be presented in the same fashion as our popular “Beer Garden BBQ” events, and will include a main entrée item with thoughtfully paired sides. Over the past few weeks, customers have enjoyed delicious plates such as Shrimp & Grits, Spinach & Smoked Ham Quiche, and Corned Short Ribs. Of course, we will continue to feature as many locally sourced and house-made ingredients as possible. Sunday Brunch Special events run from 11am to 3pm in the Tasting Room. For more information on Sunday Brunch Special menus, please visit www.troegs.com or stay tuned to our Facebook and Twitter pages.
Scratch Beer Update
December is shaping up to be quite the month for our Scratch Beer series, as we just released a Belgian Style Brown Ale on November 27 and are also poised to release a Chocolate Raspberry Stout, and for the first time ever, a Cranberry Porter. As we mentioned in last month’s Tröegs Tales, the apocalypse is upon us once again as ¿Impending Descent? has returned for your enjoyment! Originally released as Scratch #83, this colossal Russian Imperial Stout quickly became a Tröegs Scratch Beer favorite and a legend in its own right. Released on Black Friday, you can enjoy ¿Impending Descent? on draft in our Tasting Room or fill a growler to take home to your bomb shelter or panic room. It is also available in cases and six-packs through our General Store. Please note that cases of ¿Impending Descent? are limited to one (1) per customer. Please call for availability if you are making a special trip to the brewery.
From dinners and tastings to tap takeovers and festivals, our brewery reps are constantly out and about bringing our beer to the masses! Check out some of our special events during the month of November.
