Our 2nd Anniversary Beer: Watta Melon

To mark our second year of selling beer, we thought we would craft an anniversary beer to celebrate the occasion! Of course we wanted to use as many local ingredients as possible, so we decided to use the 70+lbs of watermelon that we purchased from Wake Robin Farm and Barker’s Farm (both in Stratham, NH). The result is Watta Melon – a super refreshing, highly drinkable and very balanced blonde ale, with just the right amount of watermelon to give the beer a nice lingering fruitiness.

Thanks to our many friends on Facebook who suggested so many great names, and for Mary A for providing us with the winning one!  Watta Melon goes on tap this Wednesday, July 3rd.

Help a Maine Hop Farm Grow!

Many of you want to know where our hops come from. We actually get a fair amount of our hops from Aroostook Hops – located in Westfield, Maine. Last year, we bought about 40% of their harvest. Aroostook Hops is growing and is in need of a sprayer & mechanical harvester. They’ve launched an indiegogo campaign, and they need your support. So please go to this site and help out a small, family owned business – which in turn, helps out ours!
