SY Ale Society Text

Happy February Shipyard Ale Society!

We hope our fellow New Englanders have dug out from Nemo’s record snowfall and have been able to enjoy some of this fluffy white stuff on the slopes, with an après-ski pint of Shipyard of course!

Portland’s 32 inches of snow did not slow the brew crew down one bit. With Applehead on shelves and the new Bourbon Barrel Aged Double Scottish Ale on its way to stores, the crew has been working on a new addition to the Pugsley’s Signature Series and a few other brews you will not want to miss. Stay tuned for more details on these delicious new ales in the coming month.

As we mentioned last month, 2012 was a huge year for Shipyard Brewing Company and it would not have been possible without YOU. We closed out the year with our annual company meeting last month, gathering our entire Portland based team which grew by nearly 50% in 2012! A larger Shipyard Crew means more delicious beer for us all! Since our Ale Society is very much a part of our team we wanted to share our brilliant Year End Video, produced by Ben Keller, highlighting the year’s accomplishments. Enjoy!

Cheers from The Crew!

Coming Soon: Double Scottish Ale

Double Scottish Ale is the next variation to be released in our Bourbon Barrel Aged Series.
This 11.6% ABV, smooth, malty ale has a nose of black licorice and clove, and finishes dry with a subtle yet lingering spiciness. A great pair for any to any meal, but complements spicy dishes particularly well.
You will find this beer popping up in select markets and in our Brewery Store in the coming weeks.
