It was a split weekend with Friday night and Saturday at camper where we visited Wandering Star Craft Brewery, to find that they did get the first batch of their own growlers. There were 9 out of 11 of their brews pouring for growler fills and two that I had not yet had, Bert’s Disqualified Imperial Stout “Russian Imperial Stout” 9.5% ABV and RUDE MAN “English Barley Wine” 10.6% ABV both where excellent. The new pricing they quoted last week changed from $8 & $10 to $8 & $12, with the higher $12 for the two high test ones I just mentioned and got along with 4 others and one was free. Saturday evening on our ride home we would stop at Four Main Street Bar and Grill to see what was on tap. I found a Peak Organic Fall Summit to be a hoppy enjoyment and the wife a Shipyard Pumpkinheadone of her favorites.
On Sunday we visited Westfield Spirits Shop for their Fall Beer Tasting 1-4pm, which I’ve learned from the owner Mike that he does about three a year “meaning Beer or Wine events”. They had hot dogs and hamburgers along with a bunch of brews from the likes of BBC, Sam Adams, Wormtown, Harpoon, Shipyard, Dogfish, and Olde Burnside, to name a few all free even the Harpoon sample glass. I met a woman Michele that was manning one of the various beer booth’s there by way of someone taping my shoulder and telling me that she would like a picture of me because she liked my T-shirt, there below first one is with my phone and two from Michele’s. It was a great time and we some lengthy talks we a few folks there and got some pointers on new place for our brew hunting!
