It was one of those strange weekends after I had started getting use to Fridays off there was work so we worked. And last weekend with rain on two thirds of it I needed to go to our camp site to mow grass and I have a regional 9 ball tournament set for Sunday. We started out Saturday before noon to visit Wandering Star Brewery in Pittsfield on our way to camper. They have been open for growler fills at $6 per on most Saturdays 12-3 pm and they post it here http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Wandering-Star-Craft-Brewery/108627745829142 when they do it. The foot traffic was brisk with us filling 4 growlers and Chris had mentioned that he got a contract to furnish about 90 kegs for Tangle Wood this summer “I hope I heard him right”? The mowing went fine and I opened a growler of Thunderbolt IPA which I am just now finishing up and we lost in the first round of 9 ball so we will put another hectic weekend to rest.
Thunderbolt IPA Pours amber/golden with good head and some sticky lacing. Nose of mainly Grapefruit/pineapple with a slight spice or root note. Taste is a gentle hop mouth blast with a nice bitter after mouth. Fast becoming my favorite local IPA! My growler from Brewer Chris 6/9/12.
