Look out Portsmouth!
Once again, we’ve set the flaky and gooey, sweet and savory world of pies on a collision course with the malty, hoppy and refreshing world of craft beer! That’s right; we’re pleased to announce the return of our annual National Pie Day Beer Social!
It’s beer! It’s pie! It’s beer and pie, together again, on January 23 at 6pm, in the LaPanza Lounge!
Why beer and pie? We’ve got plenty of good reasons:
1) We love them both.
2) They pair very well with each other.
3) Charlie Papazian, President of the Brewers Association and founder of the National Pie Council and the American Homebrewers’ Association, created National Pie Day while teaching elementary school in the mid-1970’s. You can read more about it here.
4) Peter had wanted to combine these two passions of his for sometime.
5) Last year’s was really fun.
Here’s this year’s menu:
New Hampshire Cheese and Vegetable Platter presented with our Winter Dunkelweizen
A Savory Ricotta and Farro Tart paired with our Munich Dunkel
Venison Pie or a meatless option of Porcini and Local Potato Pie with lingonberry mustard, accompanied by The Stone/Smuttynose/Portsmouth Brewery collaboration beer, Cluster’s Last Stand.
Peach Clafouti with fresh thyme, served alongside our Saison l’Hiver.
Chocolate Caramel Tart matched with out Coffee Milk Stout
Remember, all these pies are made in house!
Spaces for this social are limited and we expect them to sell-out quickly (like the rest of our beer socials), so please act in a timely fashion to make sure you get your slice of the fun. Reservations are $35, including tax and gratuity and can be made in person at Portsmouth Brewery or over the telephone, by dialing (603) 431-1115. We’ll begin taking reservations at noon today.
We hope you’ll join us in celebrating the goodness of pie!
