After the No’Easter destruction and missing two days of work, I passed on my Wednesday night stop and decided on Thursday in honor of Stout Day. I don’t know the country where stout originated, but knew my local tavern pours Guinness. I stopped in for one, and I know its somewhat typical and on the light side, but this is the one I started with when I got into stouts. I had a Brooklyn Chocolate Stout waiting for me at home, upon opening and smelling the Rich chocolate and roasted malt aroma, I knew my taste buds where in for a treat. It poured a ruby/black with good head and lots of lacing. Rich chocolate and dark roasted malt tantalizes the smell factories in the nose. Taste is just as much of a pleasure with a deep robust malt and chocolate aspect that wishes it was brewed year round not just once a year. I hope everyone had as good of a stout day as I did!
