This week my stop was for the second time in a row Tavern Restaurant Westfield. After enjoying my first beverage and deciding on a second, l found out the owner John was picking up the tab on this one. Which I think Chris had something to do with it but will find out at a future time. I did talk to John about the improvements on the roads and thing going on real close by in town, but he thought things where not going to people’s expectations or his. On my way out I bid them a good evening and thanked them for everything and shoved off for home.
Now for the brews I had and I should have done in reverse order because the 60 minutia was lighter than the Arrogant Bastard.
1st Stone Arrogant Bastard Ale pours dark Burgundy with good head that dissipates quickly to a thin haze but plenty of sticky lacing. Nose of malt and some floral/citrus notes in there. Taste is somewhat malty sweet but real big on hop mouth bite. It’s a badassbeer and Uncle Gary in NY is going to be pissed because it’s one of our favorites.
2nd 60 minute pours light amber with nice head and lots of sticky lacing. Nose is clean with some hop note to it. Taste is somewhat on the mild side no big mouth bite just smooth with a little bitterness. This one cannot top the first one!
