We took the Beer Club on the road. My beer club pal Allen and l went to Berkshire Brewing Company in south Deerfield Massachusetts for their 1 o’clock brewery tour on Saturday. The tour covered all of the brewing from start to finish along with 2 good size samples from their 12 taps. We enjoyed the tour while having Octoberfest and Lost Sailor IPA. I would like to know what they use those 12-taps for the other six days of the week.
Our second stop was to The Dirty Truth where they were starting to tap six special kegs of German beer. Allen had a Bear Republic Racer five and I enjoyed a Stone fifth anniversary Imperial Black IPA it went down Smooth and tasty. They were taking down the tap handles and were only pouring from their six hand taped kegs. We tried three sample tastes but decided to move on.
Next stop was Northampton Brewing where we both found the Hop Harvest 2011 to be real tasty. Not wanting to kill the day and wanting to move on we started back, but we did stop for about five minutes at a jazz festival a half block away. We finally arrived back at Table & Vine where we hooked up to share a ride together.
