Sam Calagione, Founder and President of Dogfish Head Brewing

We’re pleased to announce the return of the Sam! Sam Calagione, Founder and President of Dogfish Head Brewing is many things; brewer, rapper, marketing savant, TV star, and beer ambassador. He’s also incredibly charismatic, entertaining and gracious.
A July 26 beer social at Portsmouth Brewery will be our second event with Sam. He’ll be combining his beervangelist powers with our own Tod Mott, plus Will Gilson from Moat Mountain, Rik Marley from Flying Goose, and Dave Yarrington from Smuttynose. Each of these five great brewers are bringing one beer for the event and they’ll all be in the house to meet and greet you. We guarantee you will be entertained, educated and satiated. The social starts at 6:30 PM and tickets are limited to 50, so you’ll be guaranteed an intimate experience. Your reservation enables you to taste five beers, each from a different brewery, alongside four courses of Chef Todd Sweet’s scrumtrilescent cuisine.

Reservations are $50 each, $20 of which will go to the Krempels Center, a local organization that provides support, education and awareness for individuals and families dealing with brain injuries.
Tickets will go on sale as this email is sent out. You can book in person at the Brewery or call by phone (603) 431-1115 to reserve your place. We expect this event to sell out extremely quickly.

Here’s the Menu!

Aperitif – Flying Goose Brewery’s Pleasant Lake Pilsner

Home from camping & Widmer Brothers

Sorry I’m a couple days late with this one but shit happens. We stopped at four main street bar and grill to see if John had taped his special keg from the west coast, He had not but we talked him into it. This is a great place to visit if you’re in the Huntington Mass area.

This is what we had and my write up!

Widmer Drifter Pale Ale pours amber color with nice head and lacing down glass. Nose of citrus and floral notes big time! Taste is over the top nice full mouth of malt and lots of hops, big on hops just not mouth killing. Very very good it’s a badassbeer! On tap four main street one of only a few on east coast 7/17/11
