Started out by reading an article here and there. But something I’m hoping I read from our local pioneer valley Beer Nut about Lefty’s Brewing got my attention. So I looked them up on the web. Putting in a call, I talked to Melissa on Friday and set up a tour for Saturday for 3pm. Upon finding there place were RT 10 turns off of RT 5 in Bernardston MA. I found two people with smiling faces, and they were Melissa and Bill. Bill Goldfarb the owner and brewer greeted us and welcomed us in. It’s a small two barrel brewery. Located in an old package store, next to Antonio’s pizza. It looked like he had found his place to start his brewing. They opened their doors in March of 2010. While taking the tour Bill seemed to be enthusiastic about his brewing process. After our tour where he tested the grandson a few times we then sampled his brews. During our samples of his Pale Ale, English – style Porter and IPA I think my talkative side came out! Most of you know me don’t let me get started! All of our samplings were excellent! There will be a write up of the IPA, to come late Friday night after our next beer club meeting. The English style porter would have made you think you where across the ocean. The Pale Ale had a nice malty side to it. But until a good sit down sample size of their brews? A better tasting will come soon on my Beers tasted notes pages. I will leave it up to you to find and enjoy this yet again special place for good brews! My thanks go out to Bill for the opportunity of talking to him and the tour of his Brewery. Also they have a to do on February 5 2011. We are either going to enter or be there of both check jpeg below!
